THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE TATTOOING

If you are thinking about getting a tattoo,  be advised that it is not as simple as it looks!

Because tattoos are skin treatments in a sense, there is much for you to do regarding tattoo care, before and after the procedure.

1-2 WEEKS BEFORE TATTOOING DO NOT VISIT SOLARIUM OR ANY KIND OF TANNING BOOTHS

Do not tan or get too much sun prior to when you will get ink.

You want your skin in good condition , not sunburnt. You can not tattoo a sunburn or flaking pealing skin.

5 DAYS BEFORE START WITH DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER

A few days prior to the day you plan on getting your tattoo prepare your skin. Drink plenty of water so your skin is well hydrated.

2 DAYS BEFORE TATTOOING DO NOT USE ALCHOCOL OR DRUGS

Do not drink alcohol the day before or the day of getting your ink because that will cause excessive bleeding when getting your tattoo.

NIGHT BEFORE TATTOOING GET WELL RESTED

ON THE DAY OF YOUR TATTOO:

DO NOT USE ASPIRIN / NUROFEN OR ANY KIND OF PAIN RELIEF CREAMS AND PILLS!!

Please do not use  any kind of pain-relief medication. That can as well as drugs and alchocol, thin your blood—this can make you bleed more during the actual process and cause your tattoo to come out a little on the fuzzy-looking side. It also doesn't allow ink to be taken in the skin properly and it can result more pain than it actually should!

3 HOURS BEFORE TATTOOING EAT PLENTIFUL MEAL

Do not come on your appointment on an empty stomach!

Doing so can lead to cardiac and circulatory complications. It is important to keep your blood sugar levels up.

Within 3 hours of the procedure, you should eat something, usually because it will strengthen your blood sugar level. In fact, you should also prepare a small bag including a snack and a sweet soft drink to consume during the procedure in order to support your blood sugar level.

Consider where you are getting your ink and WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHES .

Do not come in your best suit or dress. Make sure the clothes you select are light enough that they won’t rub or otherwise chafe your new tattoo.

If you're getting tattoo somewhere on leg/foot, do not come in a high heels! You don't want extra pressure on tattooed area.

The day of your tattoo be sure to shower/wash the area well and do not apply anything to the skin. You may shave or wait and have the tattoist shave the area.
